Nominator Louise Dibsdall, Acting Consultant in Public Health says that Frances joined the Public Health team in Redbridge as a National Management Trainee. However, it is clear that promoting health and wellbeing is core to everything she does. Her most notable achievements are in local care homes and in supporting staff in their mental and health wellbeing throughout the pandemic. Fran worked with our Health Protection Officer to implement COVID-19 testing in care homes, which has been essential to reduce the risk of both passing on, or contracting the virus among both staff and residents. Through her workplace wellbeing work, she set up a ‘Wobble Room’ to enable staff to engage in mutual support, talking through their issues and concerns in a safe and secure environment. Frances has been a true advocate for public health and thoroughly deserves this nomination to be a UKPHR Public Health Hero.
