The winners of the Advancing Healthcare Awards 2022 were announced on 8 April at a ceremony held at the Park Plaza Victoria in London. We were over the moon to welcome our finalists, sponsors and guests to our first `in the room’ event since November 2019.  Guests enjoyed a moment of reflection as they listened to the talented musicians from the Blue Light Symphony Orchestra and we were delighted to welcome as our host, Allan Wilson, past president of the Institute for Biomedical Science. We heard from the finalists themselves, each with their video clips, giving us a chance to really bring to life the people and the projects.  The overall winner was chosen from the winners of each category, and this year this accolade went to Bamidele Farinre, Scientific Advisor, Lab Validation and Quality Assurance, UKHSA. Bamidele was the winner of the IBMS Biomedical Scientist of the Year award for her role as the Chief Biomedical Scientist for Mobile Processing Units Vans (MPUV) commissioned by the Department of Health & Social Care. You can find out about Bamidele and all of the winners and finalists in our Winners’ Guide.
