Victoria Davis and Dawn Spence, Sherwood PCN Social Prescribing Link Workers, Primary Integrated Community Services
Nominator Gilly Hagen, patient leader, Nottinghamshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group says that Victoria and Dawn have formed a formidable team and worked very hard to support one of the most underprivileged areas of the country. It is not an inner city area, but one that has a few small towns and is mostly villages with a wide area to cover, servicing a population of around 90,000. Initially when they took up their post they worked hard to link up with the community they service.
I am fortunate to have been an observer to how they got on with the job. Once the pandemic hit, they gave continued care and support to those who most needed it and built up and impressive network of linked support group and statutory agency support networks. This has worked because they are truly `can do people’, and their enthusiasm and commitment, has meant patients feel support and they give groups they involve in their work sense of being part of something bigger, but that their role is important as theirs.
