ABRSM, the globally recognised music organisation, recently launched Sound Sparks, a magical introduction to music for young children and their families. This brand new initiative involves live music, hands-on instrument play and creative exploration for 0-4 year olds.
Chamberlain Dunn worked with the ABRSM team to devise a PR and marketing strategy in the key areas of Smethwick near Birmingham and Sevenoaks in Kent. This included flyers, posters, social media posts, press releases, editorial writeups, as well as onsite support.
Beginning with a free pop up event in Warley Woods Park in Smethwick, a series of six sessions then began in September in both areas with many classes selling out. Feedback from parents has been incredible and we are delighted to have been involved in this project from its inception.
The programme is designed to help young children and their carers connect, explore, move, and imagine through music. Led by expert practitioners, the sessions are filled with live music, sensory play, movement, and shared experiences that support early development and nurture a lifelong relationship with music.
The sessions are underpinned by ABRSM’s Practitioner Toolkit, which is informed by educational and developmental research and delivered by highly trained professionals and musicians. Each session is tailored in real time to respond to the needs and energy of the children and families present.
