Soumya is definitely an unsung Public Health Hero, who has worked tirelessly both before and during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis in providing essential public health intelligence. He deserves this nomination for virtually single-handedly keeping on top of the ever-changing Covid-19 data, providing analysis and insights into how the pandemic was affecting our local population in Redbridge. But more than that, Soumya is also highly supportive of everyone in the public health team, responding to data requests rapidly, with a cheery disposition and great humour, which improves all our wellbeing. Without his public health intelligence, neither the DPH, nor we in the rest of the team would be able to focus our work on inequities, tailoring the Council’s services to those most in need. Soumya thoroughly deserves this nomination and we thank him for his unerring commitment to the public health cause.
