The team have worked from home since lockdown, contacting thousands of Wirral residents and helping resolve their practical, emotional and social issues. From food and prescriptions, white goods and housing adaptations, financial issues, homelessness, loneliness and isolation, the team have found a solution. Virtual walks, knitting, exercising together over the internet, whatever the issues, the team have worked tirelessly to find a solution. They have dealt with suicidal thoughts, ill health, and loss; together they have laughed and cried but have consistently been there to support people, community organisations and each other. Contact has been made with nearly 4,000 people all by telephone, working closely with primary and secondary care as well as adult social services. They have been the glue in many people’s lives. ‘I’m in total awe of their determination, strength, courage and resilience. They have truly changed lives in ways we would never have imagined, ‘says Anna.
