Nominator Diccon Bright, Strategic Planning Manager, says that Mandy has played a vital role in the local COVID-19 response by leading the partnership working and support to Eastleigh’s three independent food banks. She negotiated a new referral method and process, established lines of communication, and encouraged better monitoring of demand so that the Council could have early warning of rapidly increasing demand. She enabled the foodbanks to increase their capacity, improve their infrastructure and work safely in new COVID-secure conditions. Importantly, Mandy has bridged the gap, improving signposting to foodbanks for customers of our statutory services such as benefits and housing. In addition to this work she worked alongside elected Councillors and staff colleagues to implement the strategic ambitions of the Council through the Corporate Action Plan and facilitating strategic partnerships.
