Nominator Louise Dibsdall, Acting Consultant in Public Health, says that Alison thoroughly deserves this nomination as UKPHR Public Health Hero for her consistent and exemplary level of care, determination and passion for meeting the health and social care needs of the residents of Redbridge. Alison has not only stepped up in this pandemic, but her ‘usual’ role focuses on addressing people’s wider determinants of health which play a crucial part in our overall wellbeing. This nomination recognises the tireless work she has done in successfully managing the Redbridge Wellbeing Service, ensuring that vulnerable/shielding residents were given appropriate support for their needs. She has embedded health and wellbeing in the Service, ensuring that both she and her team deliver key COVID-19 messaging, and providing appropriate public health advice around face coverings, hand washing and social distancing. Alison is a true advocate for public health, demonstrating all the attributes of a PH Practitioner, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
