Our team of community tutors deserve huge praise for their hard work and determination to continue teaching and learning with those adults who were already on our courses when the country went into lockdown. Over night they all changed their course delivery styles and upskilled to deliver their group sessions via zoom. In the last few weeks, they have also designed and filled a host of totally new learning opportunities for totally new learners. In collaboration with our local social prescribing teams and our wider partner networks in addition to supporting those who self-refer, we’ve captured a really wide audience about to experience how lifelong learning online changes lives! In celebration of this work we’ve launched our own online Festival of Learning where we can showcase just how transformational participation in adult learning can be.
Many of our learners are faced with social or economic challenges, have had low previous educational attainment, or have been challenged through poor health. The stories we will be exploring throughout this week through are about individuals who face these challenges and struggles daily, all of whom have discovered the power that adult learning has to change people’s lives. We will be highlighting the very personal change our adult learners have shared with us and promoting the superb work carried out by tutors and support staff across Worcestershire County.
